About the centre
Hillside gardens above the sea.
Somatheeram opened in 1985 and is one of the best-known Ayurveda resorts in Kerala. Cottages are set in gardens above the beach. Every guest sees an Ayurveda doctor daily, and the programme, food and treatments are set from that consultation.

How do I get to Somatheeram?
Fly into Trivandrum International Airport (TRV). The drive is about 30 minutes, and transfers are usually included.
When is the best time to go?
October to March for dry weather; June to September for the traditional monsoon season.
How long should I stay?
Packages here run 14, 21, 28 days. A week suits a rest; Panchakarma needs at least 14 days, and 21 is better.
What does it cost?
Rooms start from about $220 a night, and a 14-day package from about $3,450 per guest, including the doctor, treatments, herbal medicines and meals. Flights and visa are extra. We confirm the price in writing.
Which visa do I need?
India's official e-Visa site lists an e-Medical visa for Ayush purposes, which uses a letter from the centre. Whether you can apply online depends on your passport. We check and get the letter for you.
